For Stuart, tree work has never been about just removing trees—it's about helping people get more from their properties.

Whether it's bringing sunlight back into a garden without losing canopy, opening a long-hidden view, clearing branches from a roofline, or carefully restoring an overgrown landscape, his approach is always the same: preserve what can be preserved, improve the health and structure of the trees and shrubs, and leave the property more beautiful, more usable, and more valuable.

With a background in horticulture from the University of Guelph and additional studies in arboriculture and climbing at Humber College, Stuart specializes in thoughtful pruning of mature trees, shrubs, and vines. Before becoming a full-time climbing arborist, he also worked as a Plant Breeder at the Vineland Research & Innovation Centre, where he developed a deeper understanding of how plants grow, respond to stress, and develop over time. That combination of scientific knowledge and hands-on climbing experience continues to shape his preservation-first approach to tree care.

He enjoys the technical challenge of working high in the canopy and believes that well-executed pruning is one of the best investments a homeowner can make in the long-term health, safety, and beauty of their property. His work also extends to young and newly planted trees, where careful structural pruning and early training help establish strong branch architecture, reduce future problems, and encourage healthy growth for decades to come.

His favourite projects are often the ones that have been neglected for years—mature gardens where shrubs have become tangled, dwarf trees that need careful rejuvenation rather than a quick trim, or properties that simply need more light and breathing room. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Stuart looks at the entire landscape and develops a plan that balances aesthetics, tree health, and the homeowner's goals.

Storm damage cleanup is another area of expertise. After high winds, landscapes can be left extremely hazardous. Stuart helps homeowners assess failed tree structure, remove hazardous limbs, and make trees safe while preserving as much of the canopy as possible.

Based in Toronto, Stuart works throughout the GTA and Muskoka, with a particular focus on established neighbourhoods where mature trees and shrubs are among a property's greatest assets.
